Outlander to air season 4 sneak peek

Posted on

Droughtlander relief is coming…and so soon, too!

To help fill the void until Claire and Jamie return in the fall, Starz will broadcast a moment from Outlander’s season four premiere this Sunday. The special first-look will be preceded by a recap of season 3.

Fans are expected to see the action picking up in the American Colonies, where the producers have said the show will take place. The season is based on Drums of Autumn, the fourth tome in Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling book series. Production is currently underway in Scotland.

Sophie Skelton (Brianna) and Richard Rankin (Roger), along with Lauren Lyle (Marsali) and Cesar Domboy (Fergus), are expected to return in season 4 to reprise those roles. The theme of the new season is “home.”

“Over the last three seasons, Jamie and Claire didn’t know where they are going to live,” executive producer Matthew B. Roberts told EW exclusively. “They never plant their feet. Now they’re getting to that place that they can call home. But the meaning of home is different for people. That’s what we will dig into in season 4.”

The first look at season 4 — which will be available to Starz subscribers only (so don’t expect a link here, sorry!) — will air Sunday at 10 p.m. ET.
