The last few weeks of 2017 are ahead of us and the hosts of Bingeworthy are looking back at the year’s hit and miss performances. In this clip, co-hosts Jessica Shaw and Lola Ogunnaike discuss actors that nailed their performances “more than once,” while choosing their picks for Best Actor Who Was Great in More Than One Role.

For Ogunnaike, that actor was Elisabeth Moss, who appeared in The Handmaid’s Tale and Top of The Lake: China Girladding that the her performance in the Margaret Atwood adaptation was “exquisite.”

“She’s so subtle, you’re not going to get a histrionic performance out of her,” said Ogunnaike. “It’s going to be in the eyes, the quiver of a lip or even the cock of an eyebrow, but she’s never going to be over the top.”

Shaw, despite agreeing with her co-host about Moss’ talent, went on to say that her pick for the title was Laura Dern. She noted that Dern’s performances in the Twin Peaks revival and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt were “brilliant,” and that Dern’s character in Big Little Lies, Renata Klein, was “one of the heroes of 2017.”
