The King in the North just couldn’t wait to be king of Pride Rock.

After Disney announced the full cast of its live-action The Lion King adaptation earlier this month, featuring Beyonce, Donald Glover, James Earl Jones, John Oliver, and Seth Rogen, Saturday Night Live “unearthed” a slew of star-studded screen tests for hopefuls that didn’t make the cut.

Among the contenders? Lin-Manuel Miranda (Cecily Strong), Mary J. Blige (host Tiffany Haddish), Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington (Alex Moffat), and Oprah (Leslie Jones) doing her best “Circle of Life” moment as Rafiki.

The original late-night comedy sketch show from the one and only Lorne Micheals.
