Weekend Update co-anchor Colin Jost took aim at the growing list of powerful men who have been accused of sexual misconduct in Hollywood and other industries during the latest episode of Saturday Night Live.
“Well, it’s a good weekend to stay inside since it’s 20 degrees out and everyone you’ve ever heard of is a sex monster,” Jost deadpanned as an image of Louis C.K., Kevin Spacey, Harvey Weinstein, and Roy Moore appeared on the screen.
Referring to Moore, the Republican candidate for United States Senator in Alabama who has been accused of having inappropriate sexual relations with several teenage girls when he was in his 30s, Jost said, “Now I’m not saying he’s guilty, but his naughty little cowboy outfit is screaming it. He looks like a guy who shows up at Westworld and says, ‘Hey, can someone show me where the middle school is?’”
He continued, “And how are we still surprised that someone who puts the Ten Commandments up everywhere doesn’t follow them? What’s next, it turns out the guy who always jokes about masturbating wasn’t joking about masturbating?” The latter remark came as another photo of Louis C.K. flashed on screen.
Later in the segment, Cecily Strong showed up as “Claire from HR” to quiz Jost on workplace sexual harassment. “What is the appropriate way to handle a workplace relationship?” she asked. “(A) Inform someone at HR. (B) Lock her in a room and make her look at it. Or (C) Bully her out of the entire industry?”
“I’m going to say (A),” Jost replied.
“Oh good, you got it,” Strong said. “You know, you’d be surprised how many people get that wrong. It can make you lose your damn mind!”
