If you’ve walked past a supermarket magazine rack or been on Twitter in the past few months, there’s a pretty good chance you know Meghan Markle’s
soon-to-be-fiancé? boyfriend is Prince Harry, the heartthrob-slash-bad boy ginger member of the royal family.
But you may not know her ex-husband, Trevor Engelson. Engelson is not a prince, but he is a television producer — he’s behind the FX series Snowfall and, soon, a divorce comedy about a man who happens to lose his wife to a British royal in the television equivalent of a Taylor Swift revenge song. The show — which is also being produced by Danny Zuker (Modern Family), Jake Kasden (New Girl), and Dan Farah (The Shannara Chronicles) — has been given a pilot order by Fox, EW has confirmed.
The announcement on Deadline specifies that this show is fictional, and the lead character is not based on Markle. The official logline reads: “Divorce is hard. Sharing custody is harder. Sharing custody with the British royal family in the unforgiving spotlight of London’s tabloid media is next level.”
