Dangerous Liaisons stars Glenn Close and John Malkovich have a not-quite dangerous rendezvous in the upcoming film, The Wilde Wedding, a reunion Close described with fondness.

“The thing that’s wonderful about our about profession is that if you have a profound experience with someone doing something like Dangerous Liaisons, it means that you have a friendship that basically you can pick up no matter when or where, and that’s what happened with John and me,” she explains during a visit to Entertainment Weekly: The Show. “You find each other again and you have this lovely script, but you have a true history together, so I think it actually kind of deepens what you do.”

In The Wilde Wedding, Close plays Eve, a retired film star who is about to marry her fourth husband, a wedding that is thrown off course by the arrival of her ex-husband Laurence (Malkovich). Playing Close’s groom-to-be is a curly wig-wearing Sir Patrick Stewart, which marks another reunion, seeing as the two starred together in the Showtime remake of The Lion in Winter.

“He’s so used to being that Captain,” Close remembers, referring to Stewart’s famous Star Trek: The Next Generation role. “And once you get that hair — but it wasn’t just hair it was this great kind of frizzy hair, which was so perfect for that character, and I think he kind of played into it.”

Watch Close, along with costar Peter Facinelli, discuss their colleagues in the clip above. The Wilde Wedding debuts Friday in limited release and on demand.
