ABC’s new comedy The Mayor has tapped Arsenio Hall to guest star, EW has learned exclusively.

In The Mayor, after an outspoken, idealistic rapper named Courtney Rose (Brandon Micheal Hall) runs for office as a publicity stunt and actually gets elected, he surprises everyone (including himself) when he has a natural knack for the job and slowly transforms City Hall.

Best known for his Emmy Award-winning titular talk show, Hall will appear in one episode as the distinguished, but hip Reverend Okoye, who is a role model and occasional father figure to Courtney Rose.

Jeremy Bronson will write and executive-produce The Mayor with Daveed Diggs, Jamie Tarses, and James Griffiths. Lea Michele, Bernard David Jones, Marcel Spears, and Yvette Nicole Brown also star.

The Mayor will debut Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Watch the trailer above.
