Momma Kate, watch yourself!
In Sunday’s episode of Power, Tommy (the terrific Joseph Sikora) confronts his mom (the equally magnetic Patricia Kalember) about the lie she’s carried for years — that her son’s father is actually alive and well and currently living behind bars. It was revealed in the Aug. 6 installment that Ghost’s former prison mate Tony Teresi (William Sadler) is actually Tommy’s long lost dad. The episode ended with Tony telling a very shocked Tommy that it was that damnable Kate who kept them apart.
EW has obtained these exclusive images from the emotional upcoming showdown between Tommy and Kate.
“Kate lied to Tommy and told him his father was dead, so she never had to confront Tommy’s feelings of abandonment or confusion at not having a dad like other kids,” executive producer Courtney Kemp tells EW. “It was unfair, but there was nothing to negotiate. This confrontation is epic… Tommy’s realization that his whole childhood was a lie hits him like a ton of bricks.”
As for the performances by Sikora and Kalember, they “always give 110 percent in these scenes,” adds Kemp. “The air in the room was thick with the intensity of their performances.”
Also in the eighth episode of the season, Ghost (Omari Hardwick) teams with Tommy to clean up the gang-infested area for his new business while Angela (Lela Loren) closes in on Mike (David Fumero) for Greg’s murder. And Ghost’s son Tariq (Michael Rainey, Jr.) looks to old friends for thrills.
Power airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Starz.
