Welcome to the Spoiler Room, a safe place for spoiler addicts to come on a weekly basis to learn what’s coming next on their favorite shows and, hopefully, get a few of their own questions answered. If you want scoop on a specific show, send your questions to email@example.com.
Give me some Game of Thrones. — Robert
Here’s a tiny tidbit: The big battle with dragons you’ve been waiting for is finally happening.
What do you have on Barry’s return to The Flash? — Lyle
Apparently, not everyone will be on board with how to go about getting Barry back. “I wish I could say that the team unanimously agrees that things are not the same when the season starts, but not everybody feels that way,” Carlos Valdes tells me. “Most of the energy on the team is toward getting Barry back, and Cisco may or may not have some things up his sleeve with regards with how to make that happen, but there is a member of the team that’s not on board, and that ultimately makes the mission to get Barry back a lot more difficult. But the thing about Cisco is if he wants to get his friends back, he will do whatever it takes the get his friends back — and that’s not just Barry.” Hmmm…
With Floriana Lima not sticking around as a regular, is there any hope you can give for Sanvers on Supergirl? — Cheryl
Yes, Floriana Lima won’t be a series regular next season, but the Supergirl bosses hope to keep her around as much as possible. So in the plus column, it really does sound like her character won’t meet a grim fate. “Maggie is welcome to come back any time she’s free,” EP Jessica Queller says. “We love Sanvers and we’re very sad that Floriana is not available full time this season.” EP Robert Rovner adds: “We love this relationship we’ve created. With that, we’re going to be telling a modern day love story that really honors their relationship that hopefully will resonate and I think will be very satisfying. Hopefully, she will come join us [again]. The door is always open for Floriana Lima.”
Will there be a time jump when Scandal returns? — Jessica
Yes, but it’s relatively brief in the grand scheme of things. “At the start of season 7, we pick right up where we left off in season 6,” Bellamy Young says.”But you know, time is always elastic in Shondaland, so by the end of that first episode, we’re well into Mellie’s presidency.” Stay tuned for much more from Young (and behind-the-scenes photos from set)!
Do you have any info on the new villain on Once Upon a Time? — Alice
When I asked about the new darkness plaguing future Henry, the OUAT bosses dropped a pretty big bombshell that there actually might be multiple curses next season. “You got a hint of [the darkness] in the finale and I hope you enjoyed it,” EP Adam Horowitz tells me. “The most vague and unsatisfying answer I can give is that it’s different than what we’ve done before in terms of how the curses work and who’s employing them and how they’re manifesting themselves, so what you saw in the finale of season 6 is just a hint and a tip of an iceberg of what’s going on in this new fairy tale land.” EP Edward Kitsis adds: “What I can tell you is we’re not going to get there right away, because as we saw, that seems like the end — Henry has a 9-year-old daughter. We’re going to start with the beginnings of how did Henry meet Cinderella?”
We saw Kate in the latest Teen Wolf trailer, but do we know anything about her return? — Cara
I can’t say much about the context surrounding any of the returns, other than they have something to do with fighting this new evil that is somehow praying on old fears. But I do know this about Kate Argent’s return: It won’t be one quick cameo. “Having Jill Wagner back for a couple episodes and seeing her having so much fun playing Kate again, it was really fun for us,” showrunner Jeff Davis says. “It felt like a great way to do the last season of the show. We didn’t want it to be just a string of cameos, so we were always trying to go for more meaningful ways we could bring these characters back.”
Love that Grodd is coming to Legends of Tomorrow. Any scoop? — Marcus
As teased at TCA, Gorilla Grodd will be part of a group of villains terrorizing the Legends — which also include Kuasa and Damien Darhk — that are organized much like the Legion of Doom, but TPTB are keeping further details under wraps. “I have a name for them that I would love to see referenced on the show,” EP Marc Guggenheim says. “But like the Legion of Doom, we have to figure out a way to get it in there.”
Will The Walking Dead ever touch on how Daryl is dealing with Glenn’s death? — Kenida
Yes, we will see much more about the guilt that Daryl feels over Glenn’s death. “That will be a plot point for Daryl at some point in the next season,” EP Robert Kirkman says. “It’s something that will get addressed.”
This week in TV: Getting hyped for the four-way crossover!
