“I hope you got your sh–ting pants on…”

That’s how Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) kicked off The Walking Dead‘s season 8 trailer that debuted at Comic-Con International on Friday. He was threatening Gabriel, whom he is still holding hostage.

But the two minutes that follow are almost completely devoid of dialogue as each character prepares for what we know will be the “all out war” arc from the comics (how ’bout that “Tomorrow” note Dwight receives?). Then, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) speaks: “When I first met him, Jesus said my world was going to get a whole lot bigger. Well, we found that world. We found each other. That bigger world is ours by right.” If that doesn’t make fans smile, Jerry thanking Ezekiel “for being such a cool dude” will.

Things get decidedly more upbeat and explosive from there. But don’t stop watching when the show logo appears. After that we’re given quite the tease: A walking cane… followed by old man Rick (yes, we said Old. Man. Rick!) in a bed, which may be a nod to a big time jump storyline from the comics. See for yourself:
