Frank Castle is here.

During the Marvel television Comic-Con International panel on Friday, Netflix debuted first footage from its Marvel’s The Punisher series with Jon Bernthal in the title role.

Included among the clips: Castle using a sniper rifle to shoot and kill a drug cartel enforcer in Juarez, Mexico from the distant confines of El Paso, Texas. (The bullet takes a long time to meet its target.) The footage even included some jokes that Austin Powers would find amusing: After Frank chokes out a bad guy in a bathroom, a man in the stall over says, “Get a room, you dirty bastards.”

Bernthal was a surprise guest during the Marvel television panel on Friday, which was devoted to the forthcoming series Marvel’s The Defenders. Netflix will debut that show — which brings together heroes Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Danny Rand a.k.a. Iron Fist (Finn Jones) to fight the villainous Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver) — on Aug. 18.

Speaking to EW on Friday, Bernthal teased of the Frank Castle viewers will meet in Marvel’s The Punisher: “I think with Frank and with the world that he’s very much involved in, he’s a soldier, so I think there will be very much a military component of the show. It will be somewhat centered on that… I think that [the] Frank Castle that was in Daredevil is not in Punisher.”

Joining Bernthal in the cast is Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page from Daredevil) as well as Ben Barnes (Westworld) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Girls) among others. The Punisher is set to debut later this year.

A clip of Bernthal in action as Castle from The Punisher was part of a bigger Marvel’s The Defenders tease dropped this week. Watch that below.
