Christina Hendricks is heading to prime time.
The Mad Men star has joined the cast of NBC’s midseason drama Good Girls, replacing Kathleen Rose Perkins in one of the lead roles, EW has confirmed.
The midseason drama from Jenna Bans follows three suburban moms (Hendricks, Mae Whitman, and Retta) who, tired of trying to make ends meet, decide it’s time to stick up for themselves by robbing the local supermarket at (toy) gunpoint. But when the manager catches a glimpse of one of them, and the loot is far more than they expected, it doesn’t take long for the three best friends to realize the perfect getaway will be harder than they think.
Described as a dramedy that mixes Thelma & Louise with Breaking Bad, the series also stars Reno Wilson, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Izzy Standard, and Matthew Lillard. Bans will write and executive-produce with Dean Parisot and Jeannine Renshaw.
In addition to her much-lauded role on Mad Men, for which she earned six Emmy nominations, Hendricks’ credits include Hap and Leonard and Another Period.
Good Girls is expected to debut midseason on NBC.
