It star Bill Skarsgård, who plays Pennywise in the forthcoming film, is boarding another Stephen King project.
The 26-year-old has been cast as a series regular in Hulu’s psychological horror series Castle Rock, where he’ll play a young man with an unusual legal problem.
Also starring Andre Holland (Moonlight), Sissy Spacek (Bloodline), Melanie Lynskey (Togetherness), and Jane Levy (Suburgatory), Castle Rock is set in the Stephen King multiverse and promises to tell “an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few squares miles of Maine woodland.”
Manhattan‘s Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason are developing the series for television and executive-produce alongside J.J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson, and Liz Glotzer. It will begin production later this year.
In addition to starring as Pennywise the Dancing Clown in It, Skarsgård has also appeared in Atomic Blonde, The Divergent Series: Allegiant, and Netflix’s Hemlock Grove.
