Seth Rogen and Stephen Colbert tried to “make friends,” as they would call it, on The Late Show Monday night when they direct messaged Donald Trump Jr. on Twitter.

Not surprisingly, the president’s son didn’t respond to this social media barrage, so they instead ended up trolling Trump Jr. with lines like, “Sup? Hanging with @SethRogen. Why don’t you return his DMs? How about we all chill together and burn one. Don’t tell @HeyJamesFranco.”

In February, Rogen realized Trump Jr. followed him on Twitter and decided to take advantage of the happenstance. “Hey man! It’s Seth. Your father is trying to discredit our media, collude with Russia, and destroy the environment,” the comedian wrote in a message that was later screenshot in a tweet. “It would be super cool of you to be like ‘yo, dad, why don’t you stop all this and go back to being a guy on TV.’ The majority of the world would be pretty psyched. Thanks!!!”

“He iced me on that one,” Rogen admitted. Though, he later realized he sent Trump Jr. more late-night DMs, imploring him to get his father to “go back to hosting game shows.” He added, “I think he would prefer that. He doesn’t seem to like this. Thanks dude! Peace!!!”

Rogen’s latest read, “Yo dude checking in. Seeing what’s up. I think you see these. If not @StephenAtHome was gonna help me get your attention. Hope you’re good. Maybe ask your dad to resign? Thanks man! Peace.”

Now we play the waiting game to see if they get a response. Watch Rogen and Colbert in the clip above.
