Jimmy Kimmel’s fans came through this Father’s Day.

For his latest YouTube challenge to mark the occasion, the late-night host asked kids to surprise their pops by shouting “I love you, dad” as loud as they could. “Every year we issue a Father’s Day YouTube challenge and in years past we asked you to spray dad with a hose on Father’s Day, to serve him breakfast in the shower, to dump breakfast on him in bed. We’ve had a lot of really bad ideas,” Kimmel admitted Monday.

He wasn’t sure this year’s idea would work, but then he received “hundreds of videos.”  “We went through all of them. We whittled it down to the best of the best,” he added, and the best of the best were then compiled into a hilarious supercut that aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live the day after Father’s Day. “I now invite you to feel the love,” Kimmel said.

One kid got a megaphone to surprise his father, who was resting on a reclining chair in his living room, but the response wasn’t too positive: “I am gonna f—ing stick that thing so far up your a– that you’re gonna taste it. Do you understand me?”

On the polar opposite of the spectrum of reactions was the elderly dad in a wheelchair around the 1:51 mark. His touching response to his daughter’s loud gesture was met with happiness and hugs.

There are also kids who shocked their dads into falling into pools, jolted them out of sleep, or threw them into a cussing frenzy. Watch more videos from Kimmel’s YouTube challenge in the clip above.
