A repeat of America’s Funniest Home Videos beat Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly, despite a tidal wave of pre-press about her controversial interview with Sandy Hook denier Alex Jones. The repeat of AFHV earned a .7 rating in adults 18-49, besting Kelly’s episode by 40% (.5 rating), according to Nielsen results. Megyn Kelly tied 60 Minutes in the demo, though the latter CBS show outranked the NBC show in viewers (5.3 million versus 3.5 million). The rerun of AFHV averaged 3.7 million.
The long-running video show on ABC also beat the NBC and CBS newsmagazines in the 7 p.m. timeslot among adults 25-54.
Thanks to a strong showing by Celebrity Family Feud and Steve Harvey’s Funderdome (1.4 and 1.0, respectively), ABC won the night in the 18-49 demo (1.0 rating) and viewers (4.9 million), Nielsen says.
Each 18-49 ratings point represents 1.28 million viewers in the demo.
