NeNe Leakes confirmed Wednesday she has negotiated a deal with Bravo for her long-awaited return to the main cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, tweeting, “it’s been a long process,” but she’s “finally reached an agreement” with the network that will see her back in front of the camera to film scenes for the long-running reality series’ upcoming tenth season.
“All hail the Queen for season 10,” Leakes shared on social media, additionally using the hashtag #thethreatisback. Bravo addressed her return in a blog post.
After debuting as part of the project’s inaugural lineup in 2008, Leakes last fronted the RHOA cast during season 7, which aired for 25 episodes between 2014 and 2015. She later appeared in a supporting capacity across season 8.
In addition to her work on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Leakes has also forged a career as a television actress in a number of high-profile projects, including Ryan Murphy’s Fox musical Glee and as a series regular on the first and only season of his 2012-2013 NBC comedy The New Normal. Recently, she has appeared as a cohost on E!’s Fashion Police and she has also been featured as a contestant on competition shows including The Celebrity Apprentice and Dancing with the Stars — she finished in seventh place on both shows.
