Whether it’s composing a song devoted to “Period Sex” or penning a catchy ditty about being a #LadyBoss, Rachel Bloom has produced some memorable music videos — as well as more than two seasons worth of musical numbers for her show, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
So it’s only fitting that actress would fall back onto her musical skills to share that she does not care about awards shows. As you can see in the music video above — hilariously created as part of The CW series’ For Your Consideration Emmy Awards campaign — Bloom would rather “sit in her den wearing black and reading Ancient Grecian plays,” than answer red carpet questions like “Who’s the most fun to kiss?” (The answer, though, is “Ryan.”)
The second season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend ended on a big note with Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III) deciding to become a priest and Rebecca vowing to destroy him. But on the way to the grand conclusion, it featured a range of catchy songs — all of which are available on the show’s official season 2 soundtrack — that touch on a variety of genres, including heavy metal (“What a Rush to Be a Bride”) Broadway (Jersey Boys-inspired “Devil Winds”), and pop (the Spice Girl-channeling “Friendtopia”).
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has been renewed for a third season, set to air in the fall.
