Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 9 seasons of The X-Files, and more leaving Netflix in April

Joss Whedon’s shows — ‘Buffy,’ ‘Angel,’ ‘Firefly,’ and more — are on the chopping block

Posted on

The vampires and demons will all be gone come April Fool’s Day (and sadly, that’s not a prank): Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel bid Netflix adieu next month. Joss Whedon’s other iconic shows, Firefly and Dollhouse, will also be bowing out of the streaming service’s lineup. Geek TV takes a hit too, with the first nine seasons of The X-Files dropping out. And for those who think movies might be exempt from the purge: the Superman franchise flies away, as does John Hughes’ classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Bryan Singer’s The Usual Suspects.
