Kristen Bell can't visit Ellen DeGeneres' house: 'It's bad for my marriage'

Dax Shepard’s La-Z-Boy recliner is causing all sorts of issues

Ellen DeGeneres’ style is getting in the middle of Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s marriage.

Following Shepard’s comedic visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday, Bell swung by Friday to address the root of the issue: Shepard’s La-Z-Boy recliner.

“It’s my fault — I bought it,” said Bell, who was exasperated when DeGeneres flashed a photo of the brown leather monstrosity smack dab in the middle of the couple’s living room. “Can you believe that?!”

“Look where it is,” said DeGeneres, astonished.

Despite their mutual disgust with Dax’s chair, Bell soon blamed the whole thing on DeGeneres. “But also, this is kind of your fault, and he pointed that out,” said Bell, taking her husband’s side. “The thing is, I actually maybe would have gone for it had I not come to your house and seen how jaw-droppingly elegant it was. I can’t come to your house anymore, that’s the point. I wanted to tell you: I can’t come over anymore. It’s bad for my marriage.”

The duo soon moved on to other topics related to Bell and Shepard’s marriage. “You’re together, and you’re in a monogamous relationship, as far as I know,” said DeGeneres.

“As far as I know as well,” quipped Bell, who acknowledged that she and the father of her children are still allowed to have crushes on other people. No. 1 on her list is Riz Ahmed, but Dateline‘s Keith Morrison is also “big time.”

“Look at him, that silver fox,” gushed Bell, who showed her love for Morrison during their interview in Entertainment Weekly. “He’s been one of my favorites forever.”
