Tensions are rising at UMKC … or at least the Switched at Birth version of it.

After two students vandalized the Black Student Union with cotton balls, Daphne (Katie Leclerc) was hoping the perpetrators would get the maximum punishment for the hate crime. Unfortunately, the university only gave them a three-day suspension. When a black student was expelled for a similar threat, Iris (Sharon Pierre-Louis) and other students began to protest outside the Black Student Union, and the university stepped in to remove them.

In Monday’s episode, Iris is refusing to let the university ignore her and continues her hunger strike. In the exclusive clip above, Daphne and Sharee (Bianca Bethune) try to talk her out of it, but she won’t back down.
