If you were starting to think MTV had stepped into a time machine, you might be onto something.
Following the return of Wild ‘n Out last year and news of a reboot of My Super Sweet 16, MTV is reviving Parental Control, EW has learned.
That’s right, the network has posted a casting notice indicating it has its sights on bringing back the dating show that, as you may recall (and as the notice states), “gives disapproving parents the power to pick candidates to date their son or daughter and replace their current unsuitable love interest.”
The original series aired from February 2006 through 2010. Each 22-minute episode followed a different teenager whose significant other didn’t exactly meet with their parents’ approval. The parents then interviewed other potential mates and send them out on dates. At the conclusion of each installment, the teen would make a choice.
Aside from confirming the posting and casting website — www.parentalcontrolcasting.com — MTV was unable to confirm any further details about the show’s return.
