If the fact that the premiere of Tangled: The Series is merely a month away wasn’t good enough news for Tangled fans, then get a load of this: Disney Channel has already given the go-ahead for a second season.
The channel announced Wednesday a “resolute and early commitment” to a second season ahead of the highly-anticipated March 24 premiere of the follow-up to 2010’s hit feature film Tangled.
The series will take place between the original film and the 2012 short film sequel Tangled: Ever After, which featured Rapunzel and Eugene’s wedding. The show will focus on Rapunzel finding her place in the kingdom of Corona, set to new songs by Alan Menken, who wrote the music for the original film, and Glenn Slater. Stars Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi will reprise their roles as the voices of Rapunzel and Eugene, respectively.
In anticipation of the premiere, Disney Channel will also air a Disney Channel Original Movie on March 10 called Tangled: Before Ever After. Two original songs from the movie, “Wind in My Hair” and “Life After Happily Ever After” were recently released.
