Super Bowl

Melissa McCarthy is the environment’s hero in Kia's Super Bowl commercial

Updated

Being a hero isn’t always the easiest job, but Melissa McCarthy is willing to put in a valiant effort in order to save the planet in Kia’s new Super Bowl commercial.

In the ad, McCarthy (Ghostbusters) is called on to help the save the whales, trees, ice caps, and even rhinos with hilarious and disastrously painful results. As the actress is driving her Kia Niro, she receives a call imploring her to help the whales, which she’s totally on board with even after one sends her flying into the side of a ship. But that doesn’t dampen her hero spirit: She rallies despite being chopped down mid-tree hug, falling into an icy ocean, and being trampled by stampeding rhinos. A for effort!

Watch the commercial above, and don’t miss the chance to enjoy some football great advertisement action when the Super Bowl airs Sunday February 5 at at 6:30 p.m. ET on Fox.
