Broadway actress Ruthie Ann Miles is continuing to recover after being injured in a car crash that killed her 4-year-old daughter.
A message posted on the Tony-winning actress’ Twitter account Thursday thanked fans for their support.
“Thank you for your prayers over our family and holding us in our pain,” the message read. “We are extremely grateful for your kindness and generosity.”
Miles and her friend Lauren Lew were both struck by a car on Monday that allegedly ran a red light in Brooklyn, New York. Her daughter and Lew’s 1-year-old son both died from their injuries. Miles, who is pregnant, is “now out of the ICU and healing,” the statement on Twitter added, and “by all accounts it is a miracle our second child is unharmed.”
A GoFundMe page set up for Miles and her family after the crash has since raised more than $400,000, and fellow Broadway stars are among those who sent messages of support. A separate page for Lew has raised more than $200,000.
