“The Power of Love” is coming to the stage: a new stage musical inspired by the songs of Huey Lewis and the News is in the works, it was announced on Thursday.

Heart of Rock and Roll will feature hits such as “Stuck with You,” “Hip to Be Square,” “If This Is It,” and more. The book is written by Jonathan Abrams, based on a story by Abrams and Tyler Mitchell, and will be directed by Gordon Greenberg.

Huey Lewis and the News became an international sensation with the release of their 1983 entry Sports, a multi-platinum No. 1 album. Through the ’80s and ’90s the band had 19 Billboard Top 10 singles and were Grammy- and Oscar-nominated for their No. 1 hit, “The Power of Love.”

Huey Lewis is just the latest big name to get the jukebox musical treatment. Other upcoming and in-development musicals will spotlight the musical stylings of acts such as Donna Lewis, The Bee Gees, The Go-Gos, Cher, and Alanis Morrissette.
