Paris Jackson calls out Nazis and white supremacists in VMAs speech

Paris Jackson took to the MTV Video Music Awards stage to reveal the winner for best pop video award on Sunday but before she got to that announcement she took a minute to call out hate and discrimination and make a plea for unity.

After Katy Perry kicked things off by noting that the world is “on fire right now but that music can unite us,” Jackson continued in a similar vain. “I hope we leave here tonight remembering that we must show these Nazi, white supremacist jerks in Charlottesville and all over the country that as a nation with liberty as our slogan we have zero tolerance for their violence, hatred, and their discrimination,” said the daughter of the late Michael Jackson, adding: “We must resist.”
