The New Pornographers are back in action. The Canadian power-pop supergroup often has to take a few years between albums while their individual members (such as Destroyer’s Dan Bejar) pursue their own careers. But now Whiteout Conditions, The New Pornographers’ first album since 2014’s Brill Bruisers, is due out in April. The band debuted a lyric video for the first single, “High Ticket Attractions,” on their website Friday.

“High Ticket Attractions” is loud, infectious, and energetic — classic New Pornographers in the vein of songs like “Brill Bruisers,” the lead-off single from their last album. The new album is emblazoned with a blue cover, and that aesthetic is carried out in the lyric video for “High Ticket Attractions,” which also features moving lines in kaleidoscopic colors. Frontman A.C. Newman handles the main vocals, with backup from Kathryn Calder.

Whiteout Conditions, the first New Pornographers album on the band’s own label Collected Works, is out April 7. Tickets for their spring tour are available now.

Head on over to the New Pornographers’ website to hear “High Ticket Attractions.”
