New Deadpool 2 trailer introduces Josh Brolin’s Cable

Posted on

It’s time to take a new look at our Cable provider.

While Deadpool 2 didn’t unveil a new trailer on Super Bowl Sunday, the film did just that a few days later — unleashing new footage on Wednesday morning spotlighting Josh Brolin’s Cable, a hulking mercenary with a glowing eye and bionic arm.

Brolin shared the new footage on Instagram, where he previously documented the physical transformation he went through to play the character.

The trailer starts off dark and broody, but then Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth puts the footage on a brief hiatus when he notices Cable’s arm hasn’t been fully CGI’d. (“It’s a metal arm, it’s not like we’re trying to remove a mustache!” he laments, taking a dig at Justice League.)

We won’t spoil how he kills time while those visual effects are finished. To see for yourself, watch the full video above, and then enjoy reading the “synopsis” from the trailer’s YouTube page: “After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.”

Deadpool 2 arrives in theaters May 18.
