It has been announced that the inaugural Cinepocalypse genre festival in Chicago will screen both the Bill Paxton-starring vampire tale Near Dark and the Stephen King-directed, cars-gone-wild movie Maximum Overdrive. The films will be introduced by director Joe Carnahan (Narc), who will also be on hand for a screening of his 1998 directorial debut, Blood, Guts, Bullets & Octane.

Cinepocalypse’s final lineup also includes the world premiere of director Patrick Magee’s Sasquatch horror film Primal Rage and the U.S. premiere of science fiction sequel Beyond Skyline. Guests at the festival will include legendary director Larry Cohen (It’s Alive, The Stuff), screenwriter Simon Barrett (You’re Next, The Guest), and actors Antonio Fargas, Eric Roberts, Barbara Crampton, and Jessica Harper, the latter of whom will be attending a screening of the Dario Argento-directed giallo masterpiece, Suspiria.

Cinepocalypse takes place at the Music Box Theatre Nov. 2-9. You can find the festival’s full lineup at the theatre’s website.
