This year’s guests at the Los Angeles genre festival Beyond Fest will include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Edgar Wright, and The Room director Tommy Wiseau, it was announced Thursday. Schwarzenegger will be attending the 30th anniversary screenings of Predator and The Running Man; Wright and fellow filmmaker Walter Hill will be hosting a double bill of their films Baby Driver and The Driver; and Wiseau will be on hand with The Room costar Greg Sestero for the world premiere of their new movie, Best F(r)iends.
Other films announced include Brawl in Cell Block 99, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, and Mohawk. Finally, Sleepwalkers director Mick Garris and other “Masters of Horror” will be attending a screening of the late Tobe Hooper‘s horror masterpiece Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Dario Argento will be at the festival to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Suspiria.
“While the two worst manbaby haircuts on the planet prepared for nuclear destruction, we prepped cinematic armageddon,” said Beyond Fest Co-Founder Christian Parkes in a statement. “We’re immigrants and we saw Dr. Strangelove — we know how this ends — but at least we get to watch some great films with our heroes and friends and go out with a real bang.”
Beyond Fest takes place at Hollywood’s Egyptian Theater, Sept. 29-Oct. 10. Tickets go on sale starting at noon on Sept. 8 via Fandango. A full list of films and guests can be found at the Beyond Fest website.
