In the new horror film Les Affamés, a remote village in Quebec is terrorized by a plague of zombie-like creatures. The cast of characters includes a well-to-do woman; a young farm boy who has killed his parents; a strangely silent hipster (Monia Chokri) with a suspicious wound that just won’t heal; and the presumptive hero, Bonin (Marc-André Grondin), who has acclimatized to the apocalypse very quickly and may be the only one with a belief in a future.
Les Affamés is written and directed by Montreal-based filmmaker Robin Aubert, whose previous credits include 2005’s Saint Martyrs of the Damned and 2010’s Crying Out.
Les Affamés will receive its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, which runs Sept. 7-17. More details about movie at TIFF can be found here at the festival’s official site. It has also been announced the film will be playing at Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX., and at this year’s Sitges Film Festival in Spain.
