The developers behind Star Wars Battlefront II just gave fans an in-depth look at what to expect from the new Starfighter Assault mode, complete with rides in Poe Dameron’s black X-Wing ship, Darth Maul’s Scimitar, and Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon. Recorded from the PS4 Pro at Gamescom 2017 in Cologne, Germany, the 10-minute-long video features epic gameplay and explosive space battles.
Producer Rob Wyle and designer John Stanley walk viewers through the preview, which goes over some of the different ships, classes, and objectives. Filling in the story gaps between the original Star Wars trilogy and The Force Awakens, the game sees a mission play out with Rebel and Imperial forces above the planet Fondor.
Starfighter Assault accommodates 23 players and will cover multiple conflicts across the Star Wars series. With Fondor, the gameplay footage puts gamers first in the Rebel pilot seat as the good guys attack a Star Destroyer.
Players will earn Battle Points as they defeat enemies and complete objectives that can be cashed in for hero ships, like Black One, Poe’s ship that includes BB-8.
Starfighter Assault will be available on Star Wars Battlefront II when it drops on Nov. 17. Watch the gameplay above.
