Filmed over the course of eight years, new documentary Man in the Camo Jacket details the story of Welsh singer Mike Peters, including his rise to fame with rock band The Alarm and his more recent fight with cancer. Directed by Russ Kendall, the film features contributions from Slim Jim Phantom of Stray Cats, Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze, and Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins, among others.
“As a teenager, seeing the Alarm — spiked hair, acoustic guitars — they had this kind of a street fighting spirit,” says Corgan in a new clip from the film. “I thought, Right, that’s the real deal, that’s how I feel.”
