Chad Michael Murray became Prince Charming again for a good cause. The actor dusted off his old costume from 2004’s A Cinderella Story to attend an Alice in Wonderland-themed prom thrown by the Children’s Hospital of Orange County on Saturday.
Murray thanked Warner Bros. for letting him “take the wardrobe out for a night,” which also marked his wife Sarah Roemer’s first prom. “It was incredible,” he wrote alongside a video he put up on Instagram. “I Brought Austin Ames out of retirement, I mean Hey it’s Prom! Met the best kids & got to dance with my Wife at her 1st Prom. Thanku @warnerbrosentertainment for letting me take the wardrobe out for a night. Big win- IT STILL FITS!”

The hospital celebrated its 16th time throwing the prom, which played host to 250 cancer patients and guests. The event is meant to offer a night of normalcy for kids who may have had to miss their own schools’ proms due to illness.

Former and current Children’s Hospital of Orange County teen cancer patients and their guests held the annual event with the theme "Alice in Wonderland". The event provides a night of normalcy for teens who may have had to skip their high school proms because they were in the hospital or have weakened immune systems. On Saturday, they dressed in gowns and tuxedos, danced and posed for pictures. Hairdressers and make-up artists helped the teens get ready. Murray also shared a video through Facebook Live and posed with actors Jake T. Austin and Drake Bell, both of whom also made appearances. “My high school graduation was 18 years ago. It’s insanity,” he said in the video. “I’m about to go to prom again. This is so exciting.”
