Michael Keaton trains Dylan O'Brien in NSFW American Assassin trailer

The Teen Wolf star learns how to kill terrorists in new thriller

Posted on

Dylan O’Brien’s character in American Assassin has been through a lot lately. Mitch Rapp’s whole life went south after his girlfriend was killed by a terrorist attack on the beach, and now he’s determined to get even. As the new trailer for the upcoming thriller from Lionsgate and CBS Films shows, Mitch’s quest for vengeance eventually leads him to Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton), a Cold War veteran who knows a thing or two about killing terrorists. Stan shares his skills but warns Mitch about making things too personal.

In turns out Stan has demons of his own, though. When a nuclear weapon ends up in the hands of terrorists, Stan knows his old student Ghost (Taylor Kitsch) must be behind it. In order to stop the nefarious plan, Stan and Mitch have to race against time and “kill people who need to be killed.”

Watch the red-band trailer below. American Assassin, directed by Michael Cuesta based on the novel by Vince Flynn, is set to hit theaters Sep. 15.
