Based on its trailer, Star Wars: The Last Jedi looks like it might be more somber than the science-fiction franchise’s typical rollicking fare. But that doesn’t mean there’s no fun to be had with it. The YouTube channel JoBlo Videos recently created a parody of The Last Jedi trailer, turning it into what looks like a classic, side-scrolling 8-bit video game. And The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson approves.

When JoBlo’s John Stratman sent the video to Johnson on Twitter, the director responded, “Oh my god that is awesome. Well done!” Johnson then shared the video with his followers, writing that the parody “makes me want to replay Monkey Island,” a reference to the ’90s video game series.
