Mr. Robot actor Jeremy Holm and Chloe Levine from Netflix’s The OA will both star in director Jenn Wexler’s teen-punk thriller The Ranger, it was announced Thursday. Other cast members include Granit Lahu, Jeremy Pope, Bubba Weiler, and All Cheerleaders Die actress Amanda Grace Benitez.
The Ranger follows a group of teen punks who get in trouble with the cops. The punks escape to the woods to hide out and come up against the local authority, an unhinged park ranger with an axe to grind, hell-bent on preserving the serenity of his forest. Wexler cowrote the film with Giaco Furino and is currently shooting in New York. The director is best known as a producer and currently has three films on the festival circuit: Robert Mocker’s Like Me, Ana Ansenio’s Most Beautiful Island, and Mickey Keating’s Psychopaths, which will receive its world premiere Thursday at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Andrew van den Houten and Ashleigh Snead are producing The Ranger for Hood River Entertainment and Larry Fessenden and Heather Buckley are producing for Glass Eye Pix, along with Wexler.
