Here are the first reactions to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Posted on

Guardians of the Galaxy fans are less than a month away from getting hooked on a feeling again.

James Gunn’s sequel to his Marvel blockbuster will rocket (like the raccoon) into theaters on May 5, and ahead of that release date, the film has begun to screen for critics and other members of the press.

Official reviews are embargoed until later this month, but some of the lucky few who saw an early screening of the film Monday night shared their spoiler-free reactions on Twitter. Perhaps not surprisingly, there’s a lot of love for Groot and a count of post-credit scenes (four were shown, and Gunn says there’s another one still to come), but also a lot of love for the film itself.

Check out some of those early Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2  assessments below.

GOTG Vol. 2 brings back Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillen, Michael Rooker, and Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel as the voices of Rocket and Groot, along with newcomers like Kurt Russell as Ego and Pom Klementieff as Mantis. Stay tuned to EW.com in the coming weeks for more on the film.
