Laying the groundwork for the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong has officially begun in a new clip from Kong: Skull Island.

Premiering on Yahoo! Movies, in the preview from the latest King Kong film, Samuel L. Jackson, who plays an Army colonel, holds John Goodman’s character at gunpoint, questioning him about his true intentions on the island.

“Ancient species owned this Earth long before mankind and if we keep our heads buried in the sand, they will take it back,” he shares. “My agency is known as Monarch, we specialize in the hunt for massive unidentified terrestrial organisms.”

Monarch is a government agency that was at the center of the activities in 2014’s Godzilla. Next year, Godzilla is set for a sequel, but then in 2020, the famed monsters will unite to face off.

Kong: Skull Island, which also stars Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston, charges into theaters on March 10.
