Piper (Taylor Schilling) faces Flores' (Laura Gómez) wrath
When season 4 of Orange Is the New Black debuts on June 17, the Netflix dramedy will pick up right where it left off. "It continues five seconds later," Laura Prepon previously told EW, "which is really great because at the end of last season … I was in the greenhouse, and there was all this craziness going on." An understatement, to be sure.
In a series of brand-new photos exclusive to EW, get a sneak peek at how the continued craziness will unfold for the ladies of Litchfield. (For example, why does it look like Piper might be losing a finger?!)

Alex (Laura Prepon)
Does this mean Alex is safe after being cornered by one of Kubra's lackeys in the prison greenhouse? Or are we looking at a flashback?

Sophia (Laverne Cox)
The last time we saw Sophia, she had been locked up in SHU. The move was ostensibly for her own protection following a spate of transphobic harassment, but as we move into season 4, she's still the one being treated like a criminal instead of a victim.

Poussey (Samira Wiley) and Judy King (Blair Brown)
As you may recall, Judy is a Martha Stewart-type who got locked up in Litchfield at the tail-end of season 3. Judging by this photo, she and Poussey have become friends and kitchen buddies. Honestly, if Poussey is happy, we're happy.

Suzanne (Uzo Aduba), Taystee (Danielle Brooks), and Black Cindy (Adrienne C. Moore)
Not to cast undue aspersions on Suzanne, but we can safely assume that it's probably for the best that Taystee has stopped her from talking.

Red (Kate Mulgrew) and Gloria (Selenis Leyva)
Last season, Gloria quit her job as head of the kitchen following an argument with Caputo. Now, she's back to working under Red. In the past, their alliance has ranged from uneasy to nonexistent, but perhaps they're ready to bury the hatchet in favor of going after whoever is on the other end of those dual death stares.

Pennsatucky (Taryn Manning) and Big Boo (Lea DeLaria)
In one of the most interesting character developments of the series, the previously bigoted Pennsatucky is now BFF with out-and-proud Big Boo. What are they plotting now?

Is someone hiding contraband?
Normally, seeing the ladies standing in front of their beds like this indicates that the guards are looking for something. But who knows, maybe it's just a simple head count. Either way, Suzanne looks concerned.

A fight breaks out?
As the inmates stare unhappily at something off-camera, it appears as if we're seeing the aftermath of a fight.
