COTE DE PABLO as Ziva David AND MICHAEL WEATHERLY as Tony DiNozzo
''It was a slip-n-slide standing up [because] we were very sweaty,'' says Weatherly of his scene with co-star de Pablo in the season premiere of NCIS (airing Sept. 25), which picks up just hours after an explosion left Tony (Weatherly) and Ziva (de Pablo) stuck in an elevator together. ''Whenever Cote and I are trapped in closed quarters for a period of time, we always find new and interesting things to play with.''

WEATHERLY AND DE PABLO
So what exactly occurs in the elevator? Weatherly wouldn't say. But he hints, ''I don't want to be too much of a tease, but I think it's possible that the elevator is a window into how these two really are with each other now, knowing each other as long as they have.''

ROCKY CARROLL as Leon Vance
The gang is in crisis mode at the start of the season, and executive producer Gary Glasberg hints that there's more drama to come for one particular person. ''Down the road, there's a really significant turn for Vance that's coming up,'' he says.

MARK HARMON as Leroy Gibbs
''[The premiere] is an emotional roller coaster, and it's all about the manhunt for Harper Dearing (Richard Schiff),'' Glasberg tells EW. ''It gets really personal between Gibbs and Dearing.''

DE PABLO, WEATHERLY, and JOE SPANO
''The theme I've put together [for] the season is fallen heroes — and that's both literally and metaphorically,'' says Glasberg.

PAULEY PERRETTE as Abby Sciuto
If Abby appeared to look distraught in EW's First Look at NCIS's season 10, that's because she is. ''Abby, as strong as she is, is very delicate and very sensitive,'' Glasberg says. ''And this incident really affects her and it affects her so traumatically that one of the things she's going to do is reach out to her brother and that's going to happen relatively early in the season.''
