Thirty years ago Monday, The Color of Money hit theaters. Starring Helen Shaver, Paul Newman, Tom Cruise, and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and directed by Martin Scorsese (all pictured above), the drama made $52 million during its domestic run and picked up four Academy Award nominations. Newman took home the award for Best Actor for his turn as Fast Eddie Felson, while Mastrantonio was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, Richard Price was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay, and Boris Leven and Karen O'Hara picked up a nomination for Best Production Design. As the celebrated flick arrived on the big screen, famous faces from Newman and Cruise to Jane Fonda, Andy Warhol, and Michael Douglas hit New York City's Ziegfeld Theater for a red carpet premiere.
