"It seemed like it was likely to fail," Pratt says of last summer's blockbuster hit, Guardians of the Galaxy. "It was something that was going to need word of mouth to succeed. Also, since it was so f---ing expensive, it had to make a lot of money to break even. I was pretty scared going into the movie. Then once we saw Groot and Rocket drinking out of the fountain, that's when it really opened up for me."

"Anna [Faris, Pratt's wife] will remind me sometimes, 'Just don't lose Andy, because that's what people like,'" he says. "I catch myself doing 'action mode' more [in photos]. It's really embarassing when I see pictures of myself and I see that I was definitely posing."

"I've been slow-boiling. This has been on a very low heat—a heat that sometimes couldn't be paid for."

"That was a bit of a leap of faith for me," says Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow on casting Pratt. "I definitely hadn't seen any of Guardians. I found him to be the kind of person I believed to be endearing and funny and warm and yet a total badass who could handle a gun and someone an animal would listen to as a voice of authority."

"I felt he was on the verge of stardom," says Jurassic World executive producer Steven Spielberg. "He is seriously funny and comedically dramatic."

"You don't want to be the guy who f---s that up," Pratt says of the rumors Spielberg is eyeing him to reboot Indiana Jones.

"I want to be able to say to Jack [he and Faris's 2-year-old son], 'See ya buddy. Go outside. Come back later.' It's important to me that our life becomes centered around our family and around him and not around ourselves, the way you have to be when you're an actor," he says, addressing whether he and his family will stay in Los Angeles permanently.

"You can't fake what he has," says pal Chris Evans. "He's a very genuine, very sincere, very humble person. And I think most people are clever enough to see through people who are putting that on. That's just who he is. That's what's so damn likeable about him."
