Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) and Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) spent much of Friends' 10 seasons testing the limits of their relationship. The two broke up and got back together multiple times, with perhaps their most famous split taking place in the fourth season. The two reconcile only to part ways again after a dispute about whether they were on a break or not when Ross slept with another woman.

One of TV's greatest love stories hit the airwaves in the form of Boy Meets World's Cory and Topanga. The childhood sweethearts temporarily parted ways in a particularly heart-wrenching 1997 episode, when Topanga says goodbye to Cory as her family moves out of town. Despite multiple breakups, the two end up together.

Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler, The Big Bang Theory
The Big Bang Theory's Amy (Mayim Bialik) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) made headlines in 2015 with their breakup. The two ended the show's eighth season with a split, cementing the end of their relationship in the first episode of the ninth. There could be hope for a reconciliation, however, as Bialik told EW.com in September 2015 that Amy simply "needs space."

Leslie (Amy Poehler) is forced to end her relationship with Ben (Adam Scott) during the fourth season of Parks and Recreation. Pawnee's finest breaks things off when she realizes that her ties to Ben could jeopardize her political future, but thankfully for Knope fans everywhere, she gets back together with her love soon after.

Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Angel (David Boreanaz) famously parted ways in the third season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Angel broke things off in the 1999 episode "The Prom," finally deciding that it was no longer smart for the two of them to be together.

Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) went through one of the hardest splits on a show full of painful moments. The once-happy couple began to see their relationship dissolve in the ninth season of Grey's, with the amputation of Arizona's leg. After infidelity, counseling, and fights, the two broke up in season 11.

While Zack (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Kelly (Tiffani Thiessen) end up together in the end, they go through a breakup in the second season of Saved by the Bell. The high school lovebirds eventually find their way back to one another, tying the knot in Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas.
