Olivia Foxworth (Ellen Burstyn), Flowers in the Attic
Mom badge of dishonor: How much time do you have? Olivia shunned her daughter Corrine just because Corrine married her own half-uncle — which could happen to anybody, really. Then, when Corrine returned to Foxworth Hall after her husband dies, Olivia insisted on keeping their children locked in an upstairs room, where she periodically beat them, starves them, called them sinful ''devils' spawn,'' and kept a watchful eye on the two oldest kids, insisting that they must share some sort of wicked lust for one another. (Spoiler alert: She was totally right.) And that's before the whole poisoned-doughnuts thing.

Lucille Bluth (Jessica Walters), Arrested Development
Mom badge of dishonor: In a family of narcissists, Lucille has more than earned her matriarchal status. She bestows her neglect on her biological and adopted kids alike and we saw in season 4, gaining her attention is almost worse. Poor Buster.
3 of 11
Lynnetta Gordon (Chip Fields), Good Times
Mom badge of dishonor: Frustrations abounded in the hood but Penny's mom took it all out on the spunky little girl played by Janet Jackson. Child abuse found its poster child in these two and we could never look at an iron the same way.
4 of 11
Jackie Taylor (Ann Gillespie), Beverly Hills, 90210
Mom badge of dishonor: Having a mother with a drug and alcohol problem was character defining for Kelly Taylor. Sure, mom eventually sobered up but the train-wreck picked up on the CW reboot.
5 of 11
Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe), Revenge
Mom badge of dishonor: Meddling mom doesn't even begin to describe this socialite with some serious control issues. And beyond hiding her daughter's parentage, and just plain hiding another son, Victoria was also a bona fide murderer. It's mommy dearest and then some.

Irina Derevko (Lena Olin), Alias
Mom badge of dishonor: It's no wonder that Sydney had some serious trust issues with a mom like Irina. Things were much easier when she thought her mother was dead. But once the KGB spy/syndicate head returned, things really got complicated as she ranged from trying to mother Sydney to trying to kill her.
7 of 11
Livia Soprano (Nancy Marchand), The Sopranos
Mom badge of dishonor: Again, trying to kill your kid is always a no-no. But being an angry, bile-filled person excreting misery every day of your life is also enough to mess up your kids.
8 of 11
Cersai Lannister (Lena Headey), Game of Thrones
Mom badge of dishonor: Sure, Cersai had no real parents on whom to model her behavior, but the narcissistic and cruel example she set for King Joffrey (her child with twin brother Jaime) had no possible outcome but disaster.
9 of 11
Constance Langdon (Jessica Lange), American Horror Story
Mom badge of dishonor: She may have loved her children but Constance never let them forget that she believed them to be less than perfect and not entirely acceptable.
10 of 11
Betty (January Jones), Mad Men
Mom badge of dishonor: With a mother for whom image and control is clearly prized above all else, the lessons and hurts are as much in what's seen as in what's said.

Regina/Evil Queen (Lana Parilla), Once Upon a Time
Mom badge of honor: Time and again Regina has been given a chance to do the right thing and maintain the trust of her adopted son Henry. Time and again she's chosen the path of power and/or revenge.
