Budding book cover designers and Dan Brown superfans, pick up your pens: The Da Vinci Code author’s publisher, Doubleday, will hold a contest to design a limited edition cover for Brown’s next book, EW can announce exclusively.
Entrants will create a cover for Brown’s forthcoming October thriller, Origin, which sees his beloved character Robert Langdon on his first foray into the world of modern art.
“I absolutely loved writing Origin and watching Professor Robert Langdon explore a rich tapestry of art, codes, religion, symbols, and fascinating locations,” Brown tells EW. “In this novel, Langdon finds himself in an unfamiliar world — the world of Modern Art — and on a quest to answer two of the most profound questions in human history. It was an exciting process for me, and I’m really looking forward to people reading it.”
While we sit and ponder what those two profound human questions could be and which modern artists Langdon will study (Koons? Basquiat? Warhol?), read the official cover design contest details from Doubleday, below:

Here’s an exclusive first look at what’s to come in Dan Brown’s Origin, on sale October 3, 2017:
Dan Brown is known for his trademark ability to blend codes, science, religion, history, and art seamlessly. In past novels, he has always explored the worlds of classical art – Botticelli, Da Vinci, Bernini, and beyond.
In Origin, however, there’s a twist…the art is modern. And so…using only Modern Art and the word “Origin” as your inspiration, let your creativity flow.
