It took three movies together, but Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone have now been immortalized in a very Hollywood way.

The La La Land duo — who previously costarred in Crazy, Stupid, Love and Gangster Squad — participated at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre’s imprint ceremony on Wednesday, wherein both Gosling and Stone put their hands and shoes in cement to, well, cement their place in the movie business. Stone had no idea their contributions would be added to the courtyard.

“I thought that maybe this was kind of a thing where you come and you put your handprints in the cement, and then they take them away and they put them up somewhere,” Stone revealed. “I was just told that they’re going to stay here. I cried a little bit inside — I mean, I cried outside, but it was inside [the theatre].”

She also mentioned that upon moving to Los Angeles at 15, she visited the theater and realize her hands matched the size of an old Hollywood legend. “If you’re looking for a Jane Russell hand double, I’m your girl,” she joked.

Gosling’s turn at the mic began with a handful of cheers. “That’s my mom and her friends. I told them not to come, but they insisted,” he said. “We had an opportunity to shoot in most of Los Angeles’ most iconic locations except for this. So this is the final piece to the puzzle. It’s a beautiful way to end this experience.”
