Mandy Moore is living in the past in NBC’s This Is Us, and James Corden brought up a piece of her own history when the actress recently appeared on The Late Late Show.
In particular, Corden was curious about Moore’s rise to stardom as a teenager in the late ’90s, when she toured with both the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC. “I went from watching them on MTV as I was getting ready for school in the morning to six months later I was on the road with *NSYNC,” recalled Moore, who became a huge Justin Timberlake fan when she was 15 years old.
Unfortunately, one of her (few) interactions with him didn’t go as well as she hoped, with Timberlake calling attention to Moore’s feet. “I was freaking out that Justin Timberlake was there, and he was like, ‘You have big feet for a girl,’” said Moore.
She added: “I’m sure he doesn’t remember this at all. But I was so impressionable and I thought the world of him. He was on a pedestal. I mean, 16 years later, it’s stuck with me.”
Laughing, Moore noted the impact of Timberlake’s words, saying, “It really scarred me emotionally.”
