Lumberjanes, Gotham Academy kids say goodbye

Boom! Box and DC Comics

All good things must come to an end. Unfortunately for Boom! Box’s Lumberjanes/Gotham Academy crossover, that end is all too soon — Wednesday, in fact.

But that doesn’t mean the comic book event can’t go out with a bang — or at least plenty of heartfelt goodbyes. To make the process a little smoother, EW has an exclusive first look at the final four pages of the series, in which the Lumberjanes bid Gotham’s favorite Detective Club goodbye.

The crossover, which kicked off this summer, saw Boom! Studios’ best and brightest summer campers team up with DC’s ragtag gang of private school students as they investigated the disappearance of the adults in their lives and traced the mysterious goings-on to a strange house in the woods, where time appears to have come to a stand still.

In the series’ final issue, the Lumberjanes and the Gotham Academy kids finally get some answers — only there’s the tricky matter of breaking the spell they’re under. After all, no one knows what will happen to Louise, the teenage girl, keeping them all stuck in an ’80s-inspired time loop. However, as the pages below reveal, it seems things work out for the trapped-in-time teen after all.

Issue No. 6 of the Lumberjanes/Gotham Academy crossover is currently available for preorder, and will be released Nov. 9. You can read the exclusive pages, below:
